Australian Bronze Sculptor
The Artistry and Tradition of Liam Hardy
Liam Hardy’s sculptural practice is an exploration of form, permanence, and memory. Working from his Gold Coast studio, Hardy shapes bronze into vessels of narrative — works that stand as both intimate meditations and public statements.
From Apprenticeship to Artistic Purpose
Liam has dedicated over three decades to sculpting and large-scale art projects, beginning his career in 1994. Liam’s experience spans figurative bronze work, film set design, and immersive environments—giving him a distinctive blend of technical skill and creative flair.
Early in his career, Liam was handpicked to join the team of Imagineers working on the Tokyo DisneySea development, followed by major sculptural projects in Macau. These international opportunities allowed him to collaborate with leading artists and craftsmen, expanding his expertise in new materials, processes, and creative approaches.
Establishing Sculpt Studios & Mentoring the Next Generation
Continually developing and improving his art practice, Liam founded Sculpt Studios in 2011 and has been proud to mentor many local artists and team members. He has assembled a diverse, highly skilled team of artistic fabricators at Sculpt Studios.
SHAPING AUSTRALIA'S PUBLIC ART THROUGH BRONZE, A TIMELESS LEGACY
Liam’s passion for creating lasting and meaningful artworks for the public arena has seen him commissioned to create bronze statues for many of Queensland’s most celebrated sporting hero’s, and more recently, Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dedicated War Memorial unveiled in ANZAC Square, Brisbane in 2022. The process of traditional figurative clay sculpting is alive and well demonstrated in Liam’s past works and beyond.
